Dear Colleagues,

It is a great privilege to host the European Workshop of Rheumatology Research in Bamberg/Germany from March 4th- 7th 2010. This Workshop will be an "anniversary workshop" as it completes a history of 30 years of one of the most important and high-quality rheumatology meetings world-wide.

The European Workshop of Rheumatology Research has emerged as a forum for cutting edge science in the field of rheumatic and autoimmune diseases and has traditionally linked basic immunology science to clinical applications. In addition, the workshop has become an important interaction platform between young and established researchers in the field, providing an excellent opportunity for mutual interactions and the possibility to present most recent work.

Traditionally, the "heart" of the workshop are the presentations of abstracts in the form of posters and oral presentations by young scientists. The program also comprises selected lectures from leading researchers presenting their cutting edge science from the fields of immunology, inflammation and musculoskeletal disease. This format traditionally allows a maximum possibility for interactions, providing a workshop-like atmosphere during the entire meeting.

Bamberg has been a kind of tradition to host the European Workshop of Rheumatology Research as it has already been the venue of the 15th Workshop in the year 1995. Bamberg is a medieval town located close to the city of Nuremberg and has been elected as World Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO.

We are thus sure, that the EWRR will be an interesting meeting for you and hope that you will enjoy your stay.
